I just got done editing shots from a nice long backpacking trip in the Whitefish Mountain Range. We fished and day hiked around Link Lake. There is still tons of snow on all the north and east facing slopes. Thankfully we brought our gators. Enjoy the shots.

Jet swims too! I was a little scared to throw the ball in for a blue heeler and border collie. We have never seen him in water over his head. Turns out he loves the water. The hardest part of this picture was figuring out how to throw the ball, grab the 400 2.8, take the shots, put up the camera up before he comes back and shakes all over it.

Hey, not the prettiest picture I have ever taken, but it’s got some news value behind it…
WHITEFISH – (GW) Tom Suiter with brandadvisors presents the new Whitefish Mountain Resort logo during a grand opening for the new Day Lodge at the resort formerly known as Big Mountain Resort. The new name and logo bring together the town of Whitefish and the resort. As for the logo it’s a fish that has mountains as a dorsal fin – for the mountains, a green body and leaves for pelvic fins for the year round part of the resort and water for the tail to show we have summer fun here too. It’s more than just name change, it’s a brand change. I hope it all works out great for the resort and town.

On Tuesday night I went back to Somers for sailing hoping for wind and light. Well neither really happend. There was a little bit of nice soft light when this water skiier darted out from the bay. The water skiier is cutting in Somers Bay on Flathead Lake. The one sailing shots sums up how it was last night – flat. It may have been a better skiing night than sailing. A sailing caption suggest I title the photos from last night “sailing on a sea of glass”
Enjoy the photos.

Shot last night’s sunset at Whitefish Lake. I was hoping for as much color in the sky as there was on Sunday night, but not today. I did see this sea kayaker as the light was getting nice.

Here are three shots from Friday night’s sunset at Somers Bay, Flathead Lake. The sailboat is Whitestar, a J34 raced out of North Flathead Yacht Club. I was kind of bummed because when the light was the best there was no wind so the sailboats were just sitting waiting. Soon it will all come together one night – wind and nice light.
